Luna Reunion

It had been a while since Charlie and Luna had a meet-up. It may as well have been yesterday, the way these two greeted each other. Amazing. Charlie doesn’t play with any other dog this way. Not Timmy, not Betsy, not Keiko… It is so clear how much they love each other. Alberto and Katie and I were smiling.

Kuma's gotten bigger at 9 months old, but he hasn't caught Charlie yet.

Today Charlie met up with Timmy, the 3 year-old male Doberman who lives on the next block. We went to Mosswood, and the boys had a really good time. I’m really pleased that Charlie can get along this well with another male dog…

Tonight when I picked Charlie up from Metro Dog, the girl at the front desk, whom I’d never met before, told me that Charlie had a really good time today playing with friends. She said that Charlie was “the best Akita,” and asked if we’d rescued him, or gotten him from a breeder, or ? I told her about all the socialization and classes and everything that we’d done with Charlie from 3 months of age. Then she brought him out front and while handing me his leash said “he’s so handsome!” Charlie, the lady-killer, the best.

Walking with Nanook

Charlie and I took a walk with Cameron and Nanook, as well as his Pit Bull, Damu. Cameron’s friend came along, so they could keep ‘Nook and Damu separate, as they don’t get along. We were careful to keep Charlie and Damu apart as well, but Charlie and Nanook still get along just fine.

Although their markings are similar, these two don't look all that alike.
